Create Premium DNS products and configure their actual paid features

domain-nexus, domains-dns

Domain Nexus can create Premium DNS and Premium DNS Plus products in WHMCS and offer them on eligible domains. Configure the plans, prices and feature policy before advertising the upgrade to customers.

01 Create the products

  1. Open DNS Manager > Premium DNS and choose Set up Premium DNS.
  2. Review the proposed plans, billing terms, prices and DNS allowances. Use your actual commercial offer rather than assuming sample values are appropriate.
  3. Select Create Premium DNS to create the supported WHMCS products using the supplied premium DNS server module.
  4. Review the resulting product configuration and customer order path.
  5. Purchase or activate a controlled test subscription and confirm that the correct domain receives its benefits.

02 Review the feature switches

Paid features can include change notifications and validated Undo, while the higher tier can provide uptime checks with failover and a DMARC aggregate-report reader. Global operator switches, subscription status, package controls and backend capability determine which controls actually appear.

Document the feature your company enables. Undo is a new reviewed DNS change, not a rewind of websites or email. The DMARC reader analyses an uploaded report file; it does not automatically collect every report or scan individual messages for fraud.

What limits should customers understand about DNS failover?

The supplied monitoring service checks selected public A or AAAA destinations from the WHMCS server. Detection thresholds, cron scheduling and DNS cache TTLs all affect failover. It is not a distributed global monitoring network or an instant switch for every visitor.

Test a controlled primary and backup destination, then review how the record returns to the primary after recovery. The backup must already host a suitable service, including content and certificates. DNS failover does not synchronise application data between servers.

03 Check upgrades and cancellations

The standard same-network arrangement can preserve nameservers, but administrators can configure different premium nameserver arrangements. Follow the actual plan and order instructions. Do not promise that every deployment can upgrade without any DNS action.

Review paused and returning states when a subscription changes. Customer access during a transition and paid-feature eligibility are distinct. Test cancellation or downgrade in staging and confirm that important DNS records are retained according to policy.

After launch, verify a real customer's resolved plan when a paid control is missing. Check subscription status and feature switches before changing provider credentials or increasing unrelated package limits.
