Install the current Nabtech Domain Nexus connector in HostBill

domain-nexus, development

The Domain Nexus HostBill connector is a HostBill Domain module. It connects your HostBill domain orders to your authorised Nabtech reseller account while leaving retail TLD pricing under your control.

01 Prepare the connector and credential

Download the HostBill release published to your account from Module downloads. Back up HostBill and check the package's compatibility notes for your installation. In the reseller portal's API Access, create or retrieve the current credential details. Save the newly revealed API key securely.

This connector uses the email/API-key credential. Its API key must be in a server environment variable available to both web PHP and HostBill cron. The module configuration stores the variable's name, not the key itself. A variable defined only in an interactive SSH shell will not necessarily reach PHP-FPM or scheduled workers.

02 Install and configure

  1. Extract the generated includes directory into the HostBill root, preserving the module's generated name. The main file belongs under includes/modules/Domain/MODULE_SLUG/class.MODULE_SLUG.php.
  2. Configure the secret environment variable using your server's normal process configuration. The package documents its default name. Restrict access to that configuration and reload the affected PHP processes when required.
  3. In HostBill, open Settings > Modules > Domain Modules and enable the connector's display name.
  4. Enter the HTTPS API URL, reseller credential email and environment-variable name. Our current API base is https://my.nabtech.co/modules/addons/nabtechresellerdns/api/index.php.
  5. Run the connection test and confirm it identifies your reseller account.
  6. Assign the intended TLDs and configure your retail terms, currencies and prices in HostBill.

How does HostBill show a pending registration or renewal?

Use an owned test domain to verify availability, registration, transfer, renewal, contacts, nameservers, lock and EPP access as permitted. A registration or transfer still processing upstream remains pending. HostBill synchronization should move it to the completed state only after provider confirmation.

For an unconfirmed renewal, preserve the original request and inspect the upstream operation before retrying. Do not create a second billed order to resolve a timeout. Keep HostBill cron and the upstream worker running.

03 Operate safely

Registry deletion is disabled unless its explicit option is enabled for an approved deletion workflow. Cancelling local billing should not be treated as permission to destroy a registered domain.

When rotating a key, update every web and cron process using its environment value and make a read-only test afterward. For support, provide the connector version, endpoint, redacted error and operation reference. Never send the API key or EPP code in a routine ticket.
