Completing SiteLock website ownership verification

security-ssl

Complete the ownership check shown for the exact website in your SiteLock account. A paid order and a working website do not, by themselves, prove that the security service has completed its requested verification.

01 Prepare the correct account and domain

Open SiteLock through the active Nabtech service. Confirm the hostname and the feature waiting for verification. Arrange access to the authoritative DNS provider if the challenge requires a DNS record. A DNS zone in a hosting panel is useful only when that provider actually serves your domain's DNS.

02 Complete the displayed challenge

  1. Open the pending setup item and read its current instructions. For a network certificate, use the domain-ownership stage of firewall activation.
  2. Copy the current record type, host and value exactly. Keep the verification record separate from the later records that route visitors through the firewall.
  3. Publish the requested challenge through the domain's actual DNS manager. Check whether the manager automatically appends the domain before entering the host name.
  4. Confirm that public DNS returns the requested value, then return to SiteLock and request verification.
  5. Record the successful status and continue only to the next stage shown by the wizard. Resolve a failed challenge before changing visitor routing.

Common questions

Why does verification still fail after I add the record?

Check for a duplicated domain suffix, an incorrect record type, an old token or changes made in an inactive DNS zone. Cached answers can also delay what the verifier sees. Compare the current challenge rather than repeatedly creating new records.

Should I change nameservers to verify the site?

Follow the actual challenge. A request for one verification record does not require a nameserver change. Moving all DNS without transferring the complete zone can interrupt unrelated services.

What should I send support?

Provide the domain, affected SiteLock feature, challenge type, time of the change and the visible failure. Support can review the status without your DNS password.
